NORTHPOINT HISTORY
NorthPoint was founded in 1992 with the
mission to develop a new and better concept of assessing how well
organizations are really performing and identifying current and future
risks and opportunities that could impact performance. The idea
was to use software for speed and a database for analytics. The
concept for enterprise assessment and performance measurement
software-based tools to be predictive and prescriptive about
risks/opportunities to enable performance optimization were developed
from the initial research into the performance of 800+ commercial, not
for profit and technology investments in the public and private sectors.
This led to the development of the first software-based tool and
supporting database that required over 2 years of research with MIT,
Vanderbilt and Stanford.
Based on additional research, 26
software-based tools have been developed and used at companies globally
to identify the value opportunities and risk inherent in companies,
projects and products. Additionally, we have teamed with several
universities to incorporate the concepts and tools into their
curriculum.
